2014 is a year of wonderful achievements for our students. The class of 2014 has been awarded over $161,000 in academic scholarships to area high schools. It is the most money one class has ever won in the history of Catholic Academy of West Buffalo!
7th grader Sophia Vaquero won a $500 tuition voucher for her lst place win in the St. Thomas More essay contest. Mrs. Kizielewicz seventh graders once again did well at the St. Joseph Collegiate Institute Math contest. Trophies were given to Kara Leone for the highest Catholic Academy score and Micah Moore and Pearl Brown for honorable mentions.
"Why Every Vote Matters" was the topic of a poster contest sponsored by the Bar Association. Catholic Academy had 3 winners out of a possible 9. Kate Mills won 2nd place in the 5-8 grade division; Leah Griffin won 2nd and Monet Thongchanh won 3rd in the 1 - 4 grade division.
Two students from Catholic Academy won awards in the author/illustrator contest sponsored by Reading Rainbow and WNED-TV. lst grader Nathaniel Maddox was second in his division and 2nd grader Max Riley Pasciak received an honorable mention for his submission.
