ENL

Welcome to ENL

We are so excited to continue the ENL program at Catholic Academy!

ENL stands for English as a New Language.  We work with students who speak another language
outside of school.  We have 60 ENL students at CAWB, and have more than thirteen languages spoken among our students.

Students are in the ENL Program, based upon their scores from the English Proficiency Assessment (NYSENLAT).
Students are tested in the areas of listening, speaking, writing and reading.

The ENL program at CAWB strives to offer an educational program to meet the needs of students who are English Language Learners
in grades K - 8.  Our goals are to assist with classroom learning, to help students be successful in the academic classroom and in
in the community, and to show students a new way of learning words.
