8th Grade Graduates Celebrate Academic Excellence

Three and 1/2 months of virtual learning did not deter the Catholic Academy of West Buffalo Class of 2020 graduates from excelling academically, earning over $101,000 in academic scholarships to local high schools.  Among the scholarship winners was Robel Eyassu, who received the prestigious Oishei Scholarship for Canisius High School.  Sienna Capitano received the Frances R. & Charles J. Termini Art Award, the Irr Family Scholarship and the Msgr. Francis Weldgen Scholarship for Mt. St. Mary Academy.   Guem Guem earned the Martin Luther King Jr. Scholarship and a Buffalo Prep Scholarship to attend Cardinal O'Hara High School.  Anna McCarthy was the  Class Valedictorian and received the Presidential Scholarship for Nardin Academy.

Fourteen students graduated on June 25, 2020 in a very emotional, moving and socially distant, ceremony at Catholic Academy of West Buffalo.  The students will be attending the following high schools: (1) Canisius High School, (5) Cardinal O'Hara High School, (2) Hutchinson Central Technical High School, (2) McKinley High School (1) Middle Early College,  (1) Mount St. Mary Academy and (2) Nardin Academy.  Congratulations to all of our 8th graders and best wishes for a bright future!
