Dress Code

The dress code at Catholic Academy is in effect for the purpose of neatness and economy. Parents are expected to make sure their children are properly attired for school. The following is the uniform policy for all students in Grades 1-8. Pre-K and Kindergarten children are not required to wear uniforms. Uniforms are worn to school and home from school. Students are not allowed to change clothes in the school building. An exception is made for those who remain for school-sponsored activities, and also for gym class. On dress down days, clothing must be appropriates and modest.  Students who are not in compliance with the dress code will be sent home to change and/or will be asked to remove jewlery and make-up.

GIRLS

• Our uniform plaid jumper or skirt (available from Flynn & O'Hara http://www.flynnohara.com/)
• White long or short sleeve blouse with collar.  Blouses are to be tucked in at all times.
• Solid color sweaters - cardigan, crew or V-neck.  No hoods allowed.
• Flat heeled shoes (heel not to exceed 1 ½  inches).  No platforms, sneakers, boots, sneaker look alikes or canvas slip ons are allowed.  This is not optional. 
• Solid color knee socks, ankle socks, tights or stockings are to be worn.  Low cut sports socks and foot peds are not permitted.
• Jewelry:  Girls with pierced ears may wear one pair of stud-type or very small hoop earrings. Parents are to request in writing if girls are to wear earrings during gym class.  Rings, necklaces and bracelets (ankle or wrist) are not allowed.  A wrist watch may be worn
• NOT ALLOWED:  Make-up, nail polish, artificial or air brushed nails.

BOYS

• Navy blue dress slacks worn with a belt at the waist.  Jeans and cargo pants are not acceptable.
• White or light blue, long or short sleeve dress shirt.  Shirts are to be tucked in at all times.
• Solid color sweater - cardigan, crew or V-neck.  No hoods allowed.
• Navy blue or uniform plaid tie.  (Ties may be purchased from Flynn & O'Hara http://www.flynnohara.com/ or in the school office).
• Shoes with socks are to be worn.  Boots, sneakers and sneaker look alikes are not permitted.  Low cut sport socks and foot peds are not permitted.
• Jewelry: A wrist watch may be worn.  Boys may not wear earrings to school.

NOTE:  Only Catholic Academy sweatshirts may be worn as part of the school uniform.  Sweaters worn are not to be oversized,  Turtlenecks and knit shirts are not allowed. 

GYM CLOTHES (Grades Pre-K - 8) consist of sneakers and shorts and t-shirts.  Halters, tube tops and tank tops are not permitted.  Children bring their gym clothes to school and change before gym class.

HAIR STYLE should be neat, well-groomed and not interfere with vision.  BLEACHED, COLORED, STREAKED, SCALP SCULPTURES AND SPIKE HAIR ARE NOT PERMITTED.  Bizarre syles (ie. Mohawks, long shaggy styles) are not permitted.  Boys hair should not reach shirt collar.  Boys are to be clean shaven where applicable.
