Hello CAWB Families,
My name is Sarah Franklin and I teach Math to students in grades 6-8. I have a Masters Degree in Science Education and I previously taught Science, Health, and Math at Our Lady of Black Rock School. Before that, I worked as an Educator for the Aquarium of Niagara.
To me, teaching is all about empowering students to become successful learners. Middle School is a time when students begin to actively figure out their identities and students can either learn to love math or give up on it for life. I love the challenge of getting my students to understand that anyone can become good at math.
Some fun facts about me: I have celiac disease, which means that I cannot eat anything with gluten. I am “gluten-free”. I love nature, soft things, and sharing stories. I have several pets and I come from a large family.
The best way to contact me is via email. I check my email daily and will typically respond within 24 hours.

Middle schoolers, I enjoy teaching you because
Individually you can be awesome or
Daring to question authority or willing to
Let others lead you but
Every day is different
So every day is a
Challenge — usually in a good way.
However I look at it,
Often middle school students
Occupy my waking (and sometimes even sleeping) thoughts but
Love is certainly in the air and it’s always an adventure teaching you!
