I was born and raised in Buffalo, New York. Three years ago I moved to South Cheektowaga. I earned both my B.S. in education and my M.S. in Multidisciplinary Studies from Buffalo State College. Diversity is one of the biggest reasons I love our city as well as teaching at the Catholic Academy of West Buffalo. I started working at Catholic Academy 22 years ago as one of the Pre-K teachers. For the last 21 years, I have had the pleasure of teaching Kindergarten.
My teaching philosophy is that every child is unique and special in some way. It is important that they have a learning environment that they can feel safe and comfortable. I want the children to know that it’s okay to make mistakes, we all do, including me. As long as we try our best and never give up we will learn to persevere. It really is amazing to see their “I can’t” turn into “I Can.“ In my classroom, I enjoy exposing my students to as many new and unique experiences as I can. That is what I work hard trying to provide every day.
The Catholic Academy of West Buffalo is truly a special place because of the wonderful children, parents, teachers and staff. It is truly a diverse environment that is not only a wonderful place to learn but teach as well. Above all, the most special thing about our school is that we have the opportunity to teach the children about Jesus and God's unconditional love for them.
On a personal note, I love spending time with my family, gardening, reading, going to hockey games, concerts and extreme activities like zip lining.
