Kabura Elias

Physical Education Teacher Pre-K - 8

My name is Kabura Elias and I am in my second year of teaching Physical Education at CAWB.  My family and I immigrated from Africa to America to seek a better opportunity in life. We have been in America since 2007 and we are very grateful to be here. I attended a public middle school (#18) and after that, I did 3 years of high school at Burgard High School. I am the first person in my family to attend college!  I was able to receive a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Medaille College. My journey was very hard, but I learned how to be coachable, accountable, dependable, and effectively communicate. I was able to surround myself with people that were willing to help me accomplish my dreams.

I picked up most of my characteristics from sports. I love playing all different kinds of sports but my favorite one is European football. Sports help me to release stress, to create memory, and also to share moments with people I technically do not know.  I am pleased to have  such an opportunity with CAWB students. My goal is not just see them and wave at them;  my goal is to teach them about sports and why sports exist in our lives.
