Welcome to ENL

We are so excited to continue the ENL program at Catholic Academy!

What is ENL? ENL stands for English as a New Language, and we work with students who
speak another language outside of school.  We officially have 99 ENL students! We have more than eight languages spoken among our
students, excluding English, here at CAWB!

What do we do? We will be pushing into the ELA classes (integrated ELA) and working with the
general education ELA teachers on further developing the English Language Learners (ELLs)
language acquisition. For some students, we will also work with them in a small group setting
(stand-alone) to continue developing their English language proficiency in all four language
domains (Speaking, Listening, Reading, and Writing).

If you think your child is eligible for ENL; If your child is struggling in any particular school area, please
let us know via email or call the school at (716) 885-6111 to leave a message and we will see
how we can help your child in that class. We will work with Journey's End to provide
translations and interpretations in languages that best serve you if need be.

Please feel free to reach out to us.
